You know what's funny? It's been pretty easy to get most Lightning Collection figures. Minus some con exclusives they aren't hard to get.

I think these particular sets will change that. Hopefully they aren't exclusive to one store. I'd rather them by fan channel exclusives if they have to be.
Each set will be exclusive to different region specific shops, and Shredder will be exclusive to a specific con in a rural area.

That hard enough for ya? :P

I have a feeling that these will be announced around July, probably around what should have been SDCC time. Especially if the rumors of an animated movie are true then I could see them waiting to announce the figures and movie at the same time.

There’s rumors of a movie?!

I’m imagining a scenario where they get the voices of the original MMPR cast and 1987 TMNT cast and my 90’s kid brain can’t take it.

Trini and Billy would not reprise their roles.

Well Trini obviously, but does Billy hate it that much? I thought he did conventions? Or am I mistaken?

Then again wasn’t Austin St. John trying to fistfight JDF a few years ago? So yeah. It’s a long shot.

David Yost has stated he faced a lot of harassment while filming the show, so he might not have the warmest attachment to the property. I thought most of them though had kind of buried the hatchet and returned to the franchise in some capacity. They obviously were okay with their likeness being used for action figures so never say never.

IDW did post something about the crossover on their Twitter recently, so who knows, maybe something is happening with it. *shrug*

The comic was really cool, though.

This is going to end up like one of the many instances where Hasbro tries to be cute and reveal something new RIGHT as it’s about to hit stores but instead misses the mark and gets scooped by leaks and stores that don’t care about street dates.

Which doesn't actually affect when our hands will actually touch plastic, just the amount of time beforehand that it gets debated whether they suck or not.

The alternate portraits look pretty good too. I really like the Donnie:

It's also up on Hasbro Pulse, if you prefer. Shipping date is April 1, 2022 (cruel April Fool's prank?!) which is probably more accurate than the BBTS date of November 2021.

Not a huge fan of the alt heads, bit too cartoony. But the figures do still look good. But it begs the question: What is the third set?
