I cancelled Dark Phoenix after seeing Anthony’s video.

Not sure I'd own a single action figure if I'd taken Anthony's advice before buying.
He helps put things in perspective, so I've not bought several figures, but I've never regretted it. For characters like Dark Phoenix, I'd buy regardless. I have the Toys'R'Us ones, and prefer the colors for Dark Phoenix. The new one looks more like Rachel Summers. It would've been better to have given us a Rachel head instead of the fire chicken. And whenever they decide to stop dragging us and give us Rachel, they could give her a different heads with the right hair.

Anthony's right though. They made her look like an army builder, which probably happened because they wanted to do Spiral.

5/6 of my Target order came today!

Multiple Man is the easy repaint of the wave, but decent for what he is. My X-Men shelf has a distinct late 80s/early 90s look about it, and he wouldn't really fit in there, but he did fight the Fantastic Four in his debut, so I'll be slapping on the angry head and putting him with the villains there, or otherwise, I'd have no use for him, really.

Avalanche is so... plain. His face looks bored to be here, and he came with no effect pieces. I'll be attempting the Sandman head swap at some point, as well, since when I think of the character, he's always angry or yelling. I think I'll also modify some Havok effect pieces to fit over his wrists, though I suppose I could give him some Shocker effects, as well. Hmm... I'll have to see what looks better.

Longshot is pretty cool. You don't need him if you have the boxset version, but his satchel is a nice upgrade. I recall him with the yellow chest star when he hung out with the X-Men, so I'll be placing this version on display with the box set's head swapped on. I think I'll be turning the other version with the white star into Bloodscream (the white claw hands from the Hatut Zeraze fit perfectly. They're a little big, which is perfect for the character).

Wolverine is great! I know, who needs another one of him, but he's the first pinless comic Logan, and this is a neat costume variant (I'm surprised it took this long to get it, honestly). He'll look great with his matching teammates when they arrive (which doesn't sound like it will be long). These are among some of the best Logan heads to date.

Spiral, as many have said, is a figure of the year contender. Her arms are awesome (c'mon Hasbro, get to work on redoing 6-Armed Spidey and Doppelganger)! I only wish she came with a non-sword gripping hand for the right side of her body. Speaking of swords, if you have the old Spiral figure, I recommend giving those weapons to the new figure, as they look much better with her than the generic samurai swords and Angela weapons. They reused Adam Warlock's cape from the Red Hulk wave for a Black Panther figure a few years back, so I wonder why they couldn't have reused those swords (perhaps they've long since lost the molds for them?). Other than that, I love the sculpt, and the articulation is excellent (I love the hidden ankle swivels). The paint is pretty good, though one Spiral had her lips printed going too far to one side. Good thing the packaging had a clear plastic bubble so I could pick between the two I ordered... It would have been SO inconvenient and uncool if a figure like this had a windowless package.

All in all, a good line-up! Dark Phoenix should be here tomorrow, and she should be a relatively quick part swap to make Rachel Summers for my Excalibur team.
Disagree with this Longshot assessment. In addition to the satchel, you get a different head sculpt with the eye effect.

It is literally the same exact head but with different eye paint.

I think I would recommend his videos to anyone. He is completely objective and often points out things that I (and probably anybody else) would never think about. You ultimately have to make up your own mind, of course, he's been highly critical of a lot of the things that I still buy and enjoy (He didn't like Todd's Clayface which I like a lot, he stopped buying Lightning Collection completely, I think he missed out on some great monsters), but he's also steered me away from things I was on the fence on (like paying after market prices for Animated Spider-Man).

He definitely give credit where it's due, though. Check out his Spiral review. He loves it just like everyone else does, and his preamble---from the beginning up until about the 2:30 mark---- is a perfect commentary on ML.

Do people really find reviews that useful? I've watched some of Robo's videos in a "teehee, it's Robo" way but if you've bought more than like, 4 Marvel Legends you know exactly what you're getting.

ML = Buck A + New Part B + headsculpt C + accessory D + Costume I Like + error that will be fixed in order to make me buy this again later

The shippers at Target were having some fun. The "hot" sticker on the Phoenix shipping box was a nice touch.

I used to feel like I knew what I was getting with Marvel Legends. These last few years, I’m not so sure. Hasbro’s ceiling is as high as it ever was, but I feel like their floor has gotten much lower.

Reviews are useful from more of an aesthetic point of view for me, especially if I’m on the fence. I’m not that interested in the articulation unless there’s something really good or something really bad going on, and the only accessories I’m really interested in getting an extended look at are alternate heads and anything unique to the character.

I like the reviews that show a lot of side by side comparisons for height, as well as trying on various headswaps so people can know which heads fit before pursuing them. Sometimes it's hard to tell what to believe because I saw one review make it sound like Kingpin head was way too big to fit something, but mine snapped on fine. Maybe his was pre-stretched on a fatter neck ball peg. I noticed one of my heads was noticeably looser after being on maybe Legion for a while.

I've been watching reviews lately to minimize annoying surprises such as soft/bendy plastic or really limited articulation (usually on the torso joints). Anthony's reviews are good, I wouldn't go so far as to say he's objective (it's impossible and he's very opinionated) but he's thorough and that's the important part. For example, he tends to weigh paint more heavily than articulation, which I don't agree with, but at least from the reviews I can find what I need.

Excited to receive Spiral this week!

Gosh, my package that was supposed to be delivered yesterday (Sunday) is delayed to Wednesday, even though it's at the distribution hub in my county. Did I choose slow shipping or something? This almost seems deliberate. I placed another order for Spiral/Phoenix/Madrox full price, and it should get here Wednesday also. But that one shipped from PA rather than AZ.

Yeah that's messed up, I got mine today and I pre-ordered my 2 Spiral's like a month ago.
