I believe they had an ab crunch but it is pretty stiff and not super functional. If nothing else you can see it from the side. They didn't have moveable bandanas though.Misfit wrote:Did the other bootlegs add articulation to the originals? Ah, I remembered wrongly then. Maybe it's just that they glued the bandanas on differently that the NECA versions.
And yeah, bring on Splinter and the Lawson turtles... I'm guessing summer for them, though. Excited to see what NECA reveals at SDCC. They always manage to surprise me.

Re: NECA: TMNT Mirage/Comic Series
Yeah I keep saying that the Lawson turtles will be my last turtle set for the foreseeable future. After that I’m going on sabbatical until Neca decides to announce the 2k3 tmnt. But it also dawned on me recently that since most of the episodes from the 2k3 show were based around the mirage comics, we’d probably see a lot of the same characters from the mirage license. And if that’s the case, what are the chances that Neca would want to tread that very same ground all over again??!

That said, I think if NECA does leave the classic properties, the one they're more likely to try out might be the comic. There seems to be a good deal of demand out there, the visual designs are pretty good, and the comics have never really gotten a figure line.
Re: NECA: TMNT Mirage/Comic Series
It's tough because both 2k3 and 2012 (which of the two I'd be more likely to buy) followed a lot of Mirage story lines with their own twists. There would be a lot of retread with Mirage, which might mean that if they ever actually do figures from either iteration, they might do the turtles and then a few characters that are either unique to the iteration or show a lot of visual differentiation from standard depictions. I think that's easier for 2012 because it changed up the looks of lots of characters, sometimes for the better (Splinter) sometimes for the worse (Bebop, Rocksteady).panther10 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 8:33 pmYeah I keep saying that the Lawson turtles will be my last turtle set for the foreseeable future. Came home to find my Zog on the front porch and holy crap this is one of the most impressive figures I’ve ever seen. We give Neca a lot of grief about some of the odd stuff they’ve done but all in all they’ve knocked their TMNT lines out of the park. We really have gotten a lot of amazing figures from them. I wish I could display Zog on my living room mantle but my wife would never allow it.

Re: NECA: TMNT Mirage/Comic Series
Coming here to say the same thing. I got my haulathon week 2 online drops today and he’s the only one I’ve opened so far. So impressive. The size of box first. The figure is a work of art. He’s just sitting on my end table alone like a sculpture.gray.496 wrote:Came home to find my Zog on the front porch and holy crap this is one of the most impressive figures I’ve ever seen. Zog is a beast!
NECA have really upped their game this past few years, QC in particular seems to have improved across the board.
It is a shame that Super7 didn't take the same approach with their TMNT line.

Re: NECA: TMNT Mirage/Comic Series
Damn seeing this image really makes me want to get full color runs of these original comics. Especially from TMNT Vol.2 from the mid 90’s all the way to Vol. 5 but I don’t even know where to start lookingJordanRH wrote:Yes.bharrisfan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 9:15 pmWas zogs tail this long in the comic? Re: NECA: TMNT Mirage/Comic Series
Excellent thank you for the responses. Glad it’s accurate even if the tail is annoyingly long. Still it is pretty much one of the best action figures of all time. And I had no familiarity with the comic

Wait until you see Mirage Leatherhead
, I hope NECA make him.
