Re: Masterverse: 7” He-Man line
I had to reorganize my storage of this line the other day and was also reorganizing my Mythic Legions, which have all those MOTU homages and... I think I like these better? Mythic Legions is obviously a higher quality piece of work in every way, but Masterverse feel like toys that are supposed to be tinkered with and the relatively affordable larger scale MOTU I've wanted for a long time.

I love the 4HM and will always treasure my 200X and MOTUC collections. But Masterverse is the line I had wanted Classics to be, and it is absolutely my favorite between the three.docsilence wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 7:20 amI had to reorganize my storage of this line the other day and was also reorganizing my Mythic Legions, which have all those MOTU homages and... Re: Masterverse: 7” He-Man line
Yeah, I *love* my Mythic Legions collection, but I was really struck how I handle those like collectible objects, where Masterverse have that safe to mess with, toylike feel MOTU deserves. Plus it's hitting all the characters I've wanted pretty quickly so it's super satisfying. I thought the 4H Stratos homage would be my new favorite figure, but the Masterverse Stratos just mad me stupidly happy, dude's a permanent fixture at my desk now.bezem wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 6:17 pmI love the 4HM and will always treasure my 200X and MOTUC collections. Masterverse is incredibly freeing for me specifically because I love to play with my toys. Tons of articulation AND detail AND they are durable enough to carry around in my pocket. I just love this line.

Re: Masterverse: 7” He-Man line
Masterverse does double duty in my display. It's my main MotU display (with my MotUC figures mixed in). I find, with some accessory and part swaps, I can make it the MotU display I want, with the characters and posability I have always wanted for MotU.
However, it also fuels my non-franchise dependent sword and sorcery display. Getting 1/12 compatible fantasy figures isn't impossible, or even difficult, but no figure series provides me as many accessories and weapons and figures as Masterverse. All the $9 Savage He-Mans I've collected have a destiny to be kitbashed into the fantasy warriors, perfect to complement the Mythic Legions or other dedicated fantasy figures I can afford to add to the display.
Masterverse has easily displaced Marvel Legends as the cornerstone of my collection, and I believe it will, in time, be held in the same esteem as Classics.

Re: Masterverse: 7” He-Man line
I've said it before, I'll say it again: Masterverse is the line I wanted when I regretted not getting into Classics (still want a He-Man & Skeletor since I have their cats, and Stinkor, since he actually stinks...*glares angrily at Origins Stinkor*).
I prefer these sculpts, and while I'm always of the mind of "it doesn't have to be exactly the source material if you can improve it," these updated designs hit my nostalgia button hard enough while not making me roll my eyes at some of the potentially cheesier aspects of the original designs.

Re: Masterverse: 7” He-Man line
Masterverse can never supplant my Classics - it is legitimately my favorite action figure line of all time - but I do appreciate the Masterverse figures in their own right and will agree that some of the more recent figures - looking distinctly at Two Bad, but also thinking of the upcoming Whiplash and Ram Man - as perhaps even better than their classics counterparts. Savage Beast Man with bulk and his cowl augments my classics display. As do the priest versions of Tri-Klops and Trapjaw. Masterverse King Greyskull can be his own entry on my Pre-ternia shelf, co-existing with Classics Greyskull.
But I'm definitely in the camp that loves what Masterverse is rounding in to.

Any word of the Target exclusives being listed yet? Particularly the NA Skeletor? I'm trying to limit myself to one new Skeletor across both lines, and of course this one looks too clean to pass up.

So... Masterverse Sun-Man is listed as "in stock" on Amazon for $17.57. Meanwhile, Target STILL doesn't have him.

She's shipping a lot sooner than I expected. I bought one, then placed another order for a second. So far only one label created, the other figure is processing.

Re: Masterverse: 7” He-Man line
I guess the Deluxe Man At Arms figure has randomly been going in and out of stock on Target.com
But it has also been reported, that this figure is a timed release, and will be available elsewhere in a couple months. Still, I don't see it being too difficult to get at Target.
Still no word on NA Skeletor or Slush Head though.
