CC24: Mystery Science Theater 3000 by Jeff Stephens

Mystery Science Theater 3000 was a cult classic TV series that was about making fun of bad movies. The premise was simple – a man shot into orbit by a mad scientist was forced to watch bad movies with the help of his robot companion, and they ripped them apart with brilliant wit and loads of pop culture references. The show ran for ten seasons and is fondly remembered today. And now, through a partnership between Diamond Select Toys, Best Brains Inc., and Deep 13 Merchandise, the characters from Mystery Science Theater 3000 are now available in Minimate form!

The first box set will include the following figures:

Mad scientist Dr. Clayton Forrester is the insane genius who kidnapped Joel, put him in a satellite in orbit, and forces him to watch horrible movies.

TV’s Frank is Dr. Forrester’s lab assistant. His responsibilities included sending Joel bad movies to watch, and getting horribly hurt or killed by Dr. Forrester’s inventions.

Joel Robinson was a janitor who was kidnapped by Dr. Clayton Forrester, shot into space in a large satellite, and forced to watch bad movies. In order to keep his sanity, he used parts from the satellite to create four different robot companions.

Tom Servo is a robot built by Joel Robinson from parts of the Satellite of Love. Servo has a deep curiosity about the world, a biting wit and sarcastic nature, and has a large underwear collection.

Dr. Clayton Forrester:
Dr. Forrester is made from a repainted Minimate. His lab coat is made from a modified Gwen Stacy coat, with a new front sculpted from Magic Sculpt. His hair is made from Sculpey, and his face and costume details are digital printouts.

TV’s Frank:
TV’s Frank is made from a repainted Minimate. His coat comes from a Chef Duff Minimate. His hair is made from Sculpey, and his face and costume details are digital printouts. Frank’s shoes come from a Spirit Minimate.

Joel Robinson:
Joel Robinson is made from a repainted Minimate. His hair is made from Sculpey, his face is from a digital printout and costume details are water-transfer decals. Joel’s shoes come from a Back To The Future Minimate, and his kneepad is made from Magic Sculpt.

Tom Servo:
Tom Servo is made with a few Minimate parts – his chest is made from a 2.5″ Minimate head, and he has regular 2″ Minimate hands. The rest of Tom is made from Sculpey and Magic Sculpt. Water-transfer decals are used on his arms.
