Collector Express/1987olds442 Customs: Ultraverse Sludge pg 2

Tue Sep 08, 2020 7:55 pm

My original customs gallery was lost in the crash, so I'm starting a new one.

First up is my Ultraverse Final Form Prime.

This is my second custom of favorite Ultraverse character Prime, but this time in his final form.

The base body is the Caliban BAF. The head is a Hyperion casting that I got glassman customs to enlarge good while back. I did have to re-sculpt the back of the head/hair a little, and fit it to the body using my Dremel and o-rings. I also added some epoxy behind the ears until it was enlarged I never noticed how thin the Hyperion ears were. The hands are from 1/6th scale Deadpool that I bought off eBay which worked out great, but I did have to thicken the peg with superglue and baking soda. The feet are from a Marvel Select Colossus which fellow Fwoosher (GUTS_2010) hooked me up with. To make the smaller feet look right I had to Dremel down the lower legs. I used styrene and epoxy to sculpt the armor, gauntlets, and boots. I used Caliban's wristbands as a base for the gauntlets, so they are still removable. I ordered the cape off of eBay it was listed to be for the Storm Mortal Kombat Shao Kahn. I attached the cape by I embedding magnets into the shoulders, and gluing some magnets to the cape. This way the cape can be removable. For the tattoo and arm hair created the graphics in photoshop and printed them on clear backed waterslide paper. To get the waterslide decals to conform to the arm used micro set and micro sol.

I really took my time with this second Prime. It's Prime Time!

All the time you've spent on this custom has paid off, I really dig it, especially after reading your process.

1987olds442 Customs Smart/Capcom Hulk

Thu Dec 03, 2020 2:25 am

Here is a little project that I did for my friend GUTS_2010. He was wanting this done so he could use his 80th anniversary as Marvel vs Capcom style Hulk.

I've also been experimenting on learning how to mold and cast parts. To practice I made a mold of a modified enlarged Smart Hulk head that I got from glassman customs years ago. I re-sculpted the back of the head with epoxy so it would fit on either the DCUC big CNC bodies or the figures like the 80th anniversary Hulk. I had some decent results for being a newbie at casting. I also decided to make a video tutorial on how I use o-rings to fit resin head.

1987olds442 Customs Smiling Prime alternate head

Thu Dec 03, 2020 3:02 am

I've been work on making an alternate smiling head for Prime. I've been experimenting with molding and casting. I made a mold of one of my last enlarged Hyperion head, and a mold of a All Might figurine's head. Then I spliced them together. Then I made a mold of that combined head.

And I love how this came out!!! Thank you again for doing this! I have to mention too, the tutorial is very interesting and informative. As I already mentioned to you that my wife and 6 year old were very impressed by it! Image Also all of your Primes are primo. I love how they all have come to life and that I've gotten to see a lot of the behind the scenes work that went into them. Amazing work as always! Now we need to see more Ultraforce!

Ultraverse: Atom Bob from the Strangers

Ultraverse: Atom Bob from the Strangers
I decided to redo all of my previous Ultraverse customs after making my Ultraverse Prime custom.

First up to get the 2.0 treatment is Atom Bob.
Recipe: Marvel Legends Spider-Man UK base body; Bullseye biceps, knees, and upper part of the lower legs; Moon Knight forearms, boots, and feet; White suit Ironfist hands; ML Havok and DCUC Superman red heads. The power effect pieces are from Can of Beams.

1987olds442 Customs: Ultraverse Prime

Sat Aug 07, 2021 10:06 pm

This is my newest Ultraverse Prime custom. I gave the first one to a friend as a birthday present, so I had to make a replacement for my collection.

The base body is the Caliban BAF which is the best base for Prime IMO. The neutral head is an enlarged Hyperion casting. For the smiling head I spliced the Hyperion casting with and All Might head casting, and the angry face I spliced it with a Toybiz Omega Red head casting. The hands are from 1/6th scale Deadpool. The feet are from a Marvel Legends Warpath. To make the smaller feet look right I had to Dremel down and re-sculpt the lower legs. I used styrene and epoxy to sculpt the boots and chest armor. I also sculpted over all of the pins for a seamless look. For the gauntlets I made molds from my first custom Prime. I ordered the cape off of eBay it was listed to be for the Storm Collectibles Mortal Kombat Shao Kahn. I attached the cape by I embedding magnets into the shoulders, and gluing some magnets to the cape. This way the cape can be removable. For the Prime logo on the cape I recreated the logo in illustrator, and I sent the cape to a friend that does vinyl signs, graphics, and shirts. He was able to cut and press it onto the cape.

Merged/Smart Hulk - The Professor

Mon Jan 10, 2022 3:51 am

I started with the knock off 80th Anniversary Hulk, and used the KO Juggernaut belt, waist, upper legs, and knees. The head is a slightly resculpted enlarged casting of the toybiz Smart Hulk head. I modified the diaphragm ball joint socket to make the torso a little taller and add some clearance to the joint. Then a full paint job.

Compound Hulk

Mon Jan 10, 2022 3:54 am

I wasn't really happy with how plain the Compound Hulk looked, so I decided to do a repaint.
