Thanks greyfox.... i'm a big fan of the movie too (obviously). Here's a WIP pic of the sculpted torso... it looks sloppy finished, but that's because it's meant to look worn and dirty.

Hey man, that is friggen sweet. "Worn and dirty", hell yeah, I'm from the boondocks in Kentucky and worn and dirty is right up my alley. I love customs that have that rugged look, like they've actually been out there busting some ass instead of modeling hero underwear.

very cool, and its pretty rare to have a "first" around these parts but I'm pretty damn sure thats the first super poseable Dune figure I've seen. And what a great idea it is, can't wait to see Sting!

Oh and have you seen the SOTA Baron Harkonnen figure? I'm not positive but I think the Now Playing stuff is pretty darn close to 6" scale, plus he's a great big flying fat dude so it should work well with your Paul....

Man, it's been foever since I've seen Dune.

That's a great custom there, Grinman. Very good likeness of Kyle MacLachlan, too!

It looks like some of the detials you sculpted are a little lost in the final piece, due to all the black paint. I'd suggest maybe doing a drybrush (or maybe even a wash) with some very dark blue or gray to bring some of those details out. Then again, it already looks fantastic, so by no means is that necessary - just a suggestion.

Any chance of seeing a pic with the old Dune figures from 1984?

Crom: glad you appreciate the worn and dirty look. I usually lean too far on the side of perfectionist with customs. it was nice to do something a little different.

Industrial: It's nice to be a first! I knew I'd never seen one, but wasn't sure if there'd ever been one here or not. I like to try original ideas... and yes, I've seen the Baron Harkonnen fig by SOTA. i found it while researching Paul. Thanks for the feedback! I think that Sting's Feyd will have to wait until ML Longshot comes out.....

The Bruce: Thanks bro... I'll give the dark blue drybrushing a shot. It needs something to bring out the details. The likeness to Kyle Mclachlan was a lucky break. i was digging through my fodder and found that head and was experimenting on different bodies when i realized it kinda looked like him.....

xAngelx and Fugayzie: Thanks for the compliments! I was pretty happy with the WIP pic myself :?

OH MAN!!!!

That is absolutely kickass. Dune is one of my all-time favorite series. And I always thought Kyle Maclachlan did a spot on Paul Atreides. Your figure is perfect. Like Indy said - not too many firsts around here - I'm surprised nobody ever made one.

Beautiful figure. I wish they had a whole series of them...

Good job, nice to see a new custom here.

I would drybrush it dark brown and not blue though. The fremen stillsuits looked like worn leather to me.

p.s Now it's time to start on a Guild Naviagtor please
