Oh I'm sorry, man, I'm an a-hole. I was under the impression that came from the FACTORY. For a custom job, it serves its purpose. I certainly couldn't do better.

Re: X-Men Retro Legends
5/6 of my Target order came today!
Multiple Man is the easy repaint of the wave, but decent for what he is. My X-Men shelf has a distinct late 80s/early 90s look about it, and he wouldn't really fit in there, but he did fight the Fantastic Four in his debut, so I'll be slapping on the angry head and putting him with the villains there, or otherwise, I'd have no use for him, really.
Avalanche is so... plain. His face looks bored to be here, and he came with no effect pieces. I'll be attempting the Sandman head swap at some point, as well, since when I think of the character, he's always angry or yelling. I think I'll also modify some Havok effect pieces to fit over his wrists, though I suppose I could give him some Shocker effects, as well. Hmm... I'll have to see what looks better.
Longshot is pretty cool. You don't need him if you have the boxset version, but his satchel is a nice upgrade. I recall him with the yellow chest star when he hung out with the X-Men, so I'll be placing this version on display with the box set's head swapped on. I think I'll be turning the other version with the white star into Bloodscream (the white claw hands from the Hatut Zeraze fit perfectly. They're a little big, which is perfect for the character).
Wolverine is great! I know, who needs another one of him, but he's the first pinless comic Logan, and this is a neat costume variant (I'm surprised it took this long to get it, honestly). He'll look great with his matching teammates when they arrive (which doesn't sound like it will be long). These are among some of the best Logan heads to date.
Spiral, as many have said, is a figure of the year contender. Her arms are awesome (c'mon Hasbro, get to work on redoing 6-Armed Spidey and Doppelganger)! I only wish she came with a non-sword gripping hand for the right side of her body. Speaking of swords, if you have the old Spiral figure, I recommend giving those weapons to the new figure, as they look much better with her than the generic samurai swords and Angela weapons. They reused Adam Warlock's cape from the Red Hulk wave for a Black Panther figure a few years back, so I wonder why they couldn't have reused those swords (perhaps they've long since lost the molds for them?). Other than that, I love the sculpt, and the articulation is excellent (I love the hidden ankle swivels). The paint is pretty good, though one Spiral had her lips printed going too far to one side. Good thing the packaging had a clear plastic bubble so I could pick between the two I ordered... It would have been SO inconvenient and uncool if a figure like this had a windowless package.
All in all, a good line-up! Dark Phoenix should be here tomorrow, and she should be a relatively quick part swap to make Rachel Summers for my Excalibur team.

And here's Hasbro coming close. I really can't think of any production examples where a tampo outline is that noticeable.
Re: X-Men Retro Legends
No need to apologize, I put it out there for a laugh. It's nearly 10 years old and was an experiment I thought had a good chance of failing.yojoebro82 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 5:00 pm

But I still expect it'll get pushed to tomorrow.
Re: X-Men Retro Legends
Definitely possible. But right after I posted that my status changed from Goodyear to the state right next to me and we're in the clear of the storms.H-bird wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 4:55 pmThe winter storms are likely causing the delays.100ptsofarticulation wrote:Is this a regular occurrence with Target orders in general? I ask because my order is supposed to arrive today as well and the tracking in the Target system definitely seems off(still in Goodyear). But the USPS system is pretty up to date and has been gradually moving everyday.
Also, I pretty much placed this order for Spiral a month ago at full price, completely missing the sale price.
But I still expect it'll get pushed to tomorrow.

The delay may just be they haven't gotten the items in stock yet but they know it's coming. Somehow miraculously I got all my orders earlier in the week and have been enjoying these for a few days now.

Re: X-Men Retro Legends
I cancelled Dark Phoenix after seeing Anthony’s video. I’d rather pony up for the TRU exclusive two pack version.
I also cancelled Multiple Man. As Billium mentioned, there aren’t very many places this version really fits in, and there’s really nothing spectacular about the figure itself as far as I can tell. Personally, I would have preferred a straight reissue of the X-Factor version as I only have one. I think they would sell like hotcakes if Hasbro released them as army builders on Pulse.

All of these are Add to Cart at Target.com right now but they are also all tagged as "Not Sold in Stores". That's how Madame Hydra, Sharon and Jimmy Woo were so I'll be curious to see if these hit Target shelves.

If you're lucky the re-release will bring the 2 pack version down in price a little bit. I'd try for one with all three heads, they are all worth having.Xavion2004 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 10:58 pmI cancelled Dark Phoenix after seeing Anthony’s video. Re: X-Men Retro Legends
MCUcollector has the tampo issues on his Dark Phoenix as well.
Tampo issue aside, I prefer the body & colors of the Retro, but the heads from the 2-pack are much nicer. I think I may do a head swap between the two figures.

Not sure I'd own a single action figure if I'd taken Anthony's advice before buying.
