Super7: G.I. Joe ULTIMATES!

These are amazing and really close to what I originally wanted Classifieds to be.

Will definitely get Duke and CC eventually.

So I decided to get into this line since wave 1 seems to look pretty damn good. One thing that kinda worries me though... the finish on Duke seems really good, it looks like they actually painted his face instead of just molding it in a flesh color (giving it that cheap, glossy look). However when looking at the Designer Con 2022 pics of wave 2, that doesn't seem to be the case on these production samples. Do you think it's another one of those "different factory" situations or do you think wave 2 will turn out like wave 1? I know it's hard to say with Super7...

Would be a shame if there was such a difference in quality between waves since I'm definitely in for Flint and Lady Jaye.

I don't want to collect this line. Just not much of a fan of S7 in general, and Ultimates lines seem overpriced. I did order wave 1 from some site (don't immediately remember the name) for 50% off, but my order has yet to ship.

Stalker though...I'll buy Stalker. My favorite Joe, next to Snake-Eyes and Flint, so I'm definitely getting him.

i'm so with you. i am NOT here for GI Joe Ultimates. I love my classified collection, that's what i'm doing for my Joe collection. But Stalker is an all time fave and I am so tempted by him. And then I look at Baroness and Zartan and think - they could slide into my 7" Display pretty easily. Like Zartan could definitely line up with the Space Mutants or back up Mon-Star.... and Baronness - I could tack on a little Horde Emblem over that Cobra logo and she stands next to Hordak and Catra just fine.

Sigh. How am I talking myself into buying most of this wave.

Zartan and the Baroness have heads that are too small. Normally I am complaining about heads being too large. So, you know there is something off here. Also the Baroness has no waist. I think it has something to do with the base piece under the overlay. Cheetara was like this as well. But The baroness looks even more up and down. Gung Ho's head and stalkers head look ok, but the proportions on this wave don't really match the first 2. Strange. And for those of you hoping to sneak these in with classified, they are HUGE.

Is there anyone that really thought that would be possible? The lines are deliberately in a totally different scale.

I DID put my SDCC BAT figure in with my Classified BAT squadron deliberately as an oversize robot, since - y'know - robots can be built at whatever size. But I can't imagine anyone traying to fudge any of the human figures into the same display with Classified characters.

Unlikely. I didn't even buy all of the Silverhawks Ultimates because I didn't like the more "normal human" costumes. If I can find a reasonable way to get them into my 1/10 Fantasy/SciFi motif I'll pick them up - but the straight up earth soldier look doesn't work for me there. That's why Zartan and Baronness are more tempting for me than previous releases

As a frequent reader of HissTank, we don't always have the brightest fans in the world.


I will say that I'm incredibly disappointed that Super didn't include a hair piece with Ultimates Zartan considering how many times his hood was drawn as hair in the cartoon.
