Yeah, seems my local stores only got one case of the villains/Splinter. Once they're gone, they're gone...
Hopefully I am wrong. Still need to find Splinter & a foot soldier.

Re: Playmates: TMNT Original Vintage Series
Well, an update - the two Walmarts nearest that actually have tags for these were fully stocked this morning with Storage Shells, the villains/Splinter wave, and the Giant Size. Splinter and the Foot Soldier seem to be interchanged in a case revision. The A case has 1x Splinter, the B has the 1x Foot. I have yet to see a Foot anywhere.
I did pick up the figures I wanted from this current retro wave minus that Foot Soldier. I left Bebop & Rocksteady behind. While it’s nice to have them on these very vintage looking cards, these are by far the worst reissues of the pair to date. Missing paint, terrible colors, and very poor execution of Bebop’s face.

Re: Playmates: TMNT Original Vintage Series
My local Wal-Mart here in Ohio finally did it's reset, and tonight they had ALL the Playmates TMNT stuff. Pizza Throwers, Battle Shell Turtles, Vintage villains, the 7" Playmates Classics, and what I was most happy about, the 12" Playmates Vintage Re Releases of Michelangelo and Leonardo.
Bought 12" Mikey and Leo immediately.

Still looking for Splinter, Shell Raph and Don. I at least have the links for Raph and Don saved at both Target and Amazon. Haven’t seen Splinter listed online.

Re: Playmates: TMNT Original Vintage Series
It feels like the villain case is going to be the headache for people. Especially since, in their infinite wisdom, they decided to do that BS revision case setup so you can either get a Foot Soldier or Splinter...
This was one of my Walmarts, and they even had more Storage Shell and Pizza Tossers in overstock boxes on top of the aisle. They're only supposed to have two pegs of Storage Shell and two pegs for the villains, but they just filled up on SS.

Re: Playmates: TMNT Original Vintage Series
Still haven't found any myself, but my buddy found a bunch at his Target. I could only afford to have him pick up the three Storage Shells he found (still need Mikey).
I'd love one of each of the previous rereleases (TRU, 2016-18) for keeping "on card," Splinter, Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, Foot Soldier, and two of ones I only have actual vintage of (especially if they're incomplete, like Leatherhead) so I can open one.
C'mon, Playmates. *sigh*

Re: Playmates: TMNT Original Vintage Series
Out of curiosity, what's the distribution to Walmart typically been like? Specifically for Splinter and Shredder?
Also, what do people think the chances are of them doing a solo reissue of April at some point in the future?
Edit: Went grocery shopping, so I decided to swing through the toy department to see how the reset went. They definitely had plenty of space for the vintage TMNT figures, but only had a single Pizza Tossin Donatello. Not going to count on it, but I do hope they get more in. I at least want to try and get a Splinter and a Shredder.

Re: Playmates: TMNT Original Vintage Series
If you have a Walmart Neighborhood Center in your town, or a few of them...uh, I guess they're getting these too? Unless it was a mis-shipment...which it could be considering how bloody many cases there are.

I only dug into one case and it was a Splinter. I'm going to assume the "01" means all Splinter and no Foot Soldier...

Re: Playmates: TMNT Original Vintage Series
I would only want Donny, but checking now, the cheapest option (all 3rd party sellers) is $53.
On happier news, I finally found one of these! Storage Shell Leo, so while I have the four my buddy found me hanging on my wall, I was able to open this one & play with him! Childhood dream come true (I had SO MANY of the line, but never had these or the Pizza Shooters - but I had THE Pizza Thrower vehicle; still have all the pizzas, and the stickers are in great shape!). His head was stuck, and being softer plastic, was threatening to twist off, so I stuck him in the freezer for 15-20 minutes, and it cracked free nicely (extremely glad I could see the peg on the inside both before & after freezing to see both the problem and the solution).

Same issue I had with Raph. Head was stuck, about to tear, froze it and got it to move.

Re: Playmates: TMNT Original Vintage Series
Just got back into collecting Turtles after about 30 years! Any news on Playmates re-releasing more vintage figures? Do you think they'll go deep into re-releases? I would love to get figures like Panda Khan, Kang's android, Slash single release, General Traag, Mondo Gecko

Re: Playmates: TMNT Original Vintage Series
No, but with Playmates you never really know what's in the plans. We may see these re-releases slow down though with the new movie coming out.
