I randomly checked a Walmart I don't typically care to go into. I looked at several the other day and had no luck, including this one. But on a whim I went back and Link and Zelda were just hanging out on a shelf in toys near the other Nintendo stuff. I didn't look for a tag, just grabbed and went.

I like the look of Link for the most part, but the head and face are slightly off. He is shorter than the Figuarts Twilight Princess Link, but looks good with the master sword and Hylian shield. Zelda's face isn't the best likeness, but it'll do. I really hope with Tears of the Kingdom we get some new figures and hopefully a larger guardian or other enemies to display. Image

Finally got around to doing some simple customs, now that there’s a decent Mario to do them with. Classic, SMB3 sprite, and SMW sprite. Gonna make a wired cape for World version, then I just have one more to make: SMB brown shirt/red overalls.

I have made that classic mario myself and see the rest makes me desperately wish that Nintendo would let people play in the other eras. Blarg.

For sure. I’d kind of rather have sculpts that actually represent the art and style of the times, but it’s pretty clear Jakks is not allowed to do that or they absolutely would. I’d kill to have a Mario 64 version all blocky like in the game but with the same articulation as these, but that’s one I’d probably have to make myself as well.

A couple years ago would’ve been a great time to release that since it was an alt costume in Odyssey.

I’m really surprised we didn’t get more costumes from Odyssey. So many to choose from. Could’ve justified a 4” Dr Mario. Half of them were just repaints of the normal Mario mold. Sombrero was listed in GameStop’s computer but never made it out. I’d be shocked if there wasn’t a little fire to the smoke and it exists in the depths of Jakks’ offices.

My buddy found Link, Zelda, & Samus for me at an out-of-town Walmart yesterday. He said they had 2 sets on the pegs so I'm not sure if that is the case count.

That sounds right. I think when I found them they had two of everyone except Link who they had more of. So maybe a case of 8 with 4 Links and 2 of Samus and Zelda?

Wish she was easier to find, but Wendy came in yesterday. Hope whenever they do Morton and Roy they’ll be worth the wait and appropriately sized. We need a Thwomp too. Surprised no one’s found even a non Jakks version of him to fit considering he’s just a giant square.

Every time I’ve found them it’s been 2x Link, 1 Zelda, and 1 Samus (if she wasn’t already grabbed.) I’m guessing it’s a case of four, and some stores may have gotten two cases.

If they continue with the BoTW line I hope they do a Link wearing the Wild Armor set.

Oh man, I'd buy so many of the armor sets! First, I'd love to see the Champions, though! Mipha, please!

Any reports of the Zelda/Samus figs hitting Canada? I went to a Walmart the other day and all they had was three Wendys on the pegs. Seemed odd given that it's the one people are having trouble finding.

I’ve been seeing restocks after sell through, but mostly just Link. I think as long as you’re looking often enough, it probably won’t be too difficult to find everyone.

We haven’t talked about it, but what interests me is that these are on a peg labeled “Nintendo Franchise”. I wonder if we’ll be seeing more new Zelda stuff or others as well.
