I’m not really a fan of Matt in the comics, but seems like a good base for a Bat in the Sun V2 custom Green Ranger suit.

Checked online and this green ranger is based on the bat in the sun design, pretty cool homage to the fan film.

The new trailer dropped for the Once and Always anniversary special, with plot reveals. Still a lot of questions on how they will handle certain ranger absences, but really looking forward to it regardless!
I don't know if figures for this are planned, I don't know how much "new" you can really get out of this besides older unmasked heads. But one easy figure they could produce from this might be

Don’t get too excited about that Green Ranger, I’ve seen on other forums people saying it’s fake. There’s rumors of the Omega Rangers coming to lightning collection so who knows tho.

Re: comic Green Ranger
I wasn't a huge fan of Matt either. Not that the character himself was anything egregious, I just felt any time spent on stories with him interacting with Kim and the rest of the team before he was a Ranger could have just as easily been Tommy in the exact same roll. The figure itself looks very cool. If you put Dino Black Tommy's head on here, you can have an older Tommy still fighting the good fight as the Green Ranger the way we all wish it would have worked out in real life. Lots of head cannon potential here. (I'm also going to guess this is real. It looks too elaborate to be fake).

Re: Power Rangers Lightning Collection General Discussion
It seems to be, what they kind of explained a little in the comics, that it's all alternate reality or alternate dimension stuff. The comics are a different dimension then the show. It also explains how some teams dont know about each other, they're from different dimensions. So even if Trinis dead in the show verse, she can still be alive and knocking boots with Zack in the comics no issue.
That green ranger looks legit, but it could be fake. I'd use it for the BitS Tommy anyway. I'm sure if it isn't legit, they will eventually make one at some point anyway.
Kendrix was the first ranger to die in America iirc. And was replaced by Karone. Behind the scenes, the actress who played her got diagnosed with some sort of cancer and couldn't do the filming anymore because of her condition. I think she survived. I can see how that would put a big hamper on filming and doing alot of life things in general.

The Boom Studios Green Ranger is probably fake. Doesn't look like a render and the dagger overlaps the artwork. Would love to see one released though.

Oh, for sure. It's no different than the MCU or DC movies vs their comic book counterparts.Trunks3540 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 8:02 pmIt seems to be, what they kind of explained a little in the comics, that it's all alternate reality or alternate dimension stuff. Re: Power Rangers Lightning Collection General Discussion
Except it is. I don't read the comics. I have no interest in that version of Power Rangers. I'm interested in the version I grew up with, with the actors, and seeing them kill off that character who is so much intwined with that actress, is jarring and suspends the concocted fantasy that everything works out in the fiction. I don't subscribe to Power Rangers for a hard dose of everybody dies. Even with Kendrix, as noble and impactful as her death was, she was revived. Happy fairytale ending. You may be completely comfortable with the decisions made here, but I didn't really ask for your flippant input in response to me voicing my thoughts on it.

I'm with you when you say you don't want to see a "hard dose" of death in your power rangers. I don't want to see this turned into a youtube fan fiction with James VanDerBeek murdering off his old teammates (if you don't know what I'm talking about, that's probably a good thing). If this actress was still alive and the writers thought killing off Trini would be some cool, "gritty" twist, I'd say no thanks. You don't want to see Gargamill kill off Smurff-ette in a Smurffs reunion special. PR isn't exactly the same, but it kind of is. But this being live action, when real life deals a tragic hand, it's harder to address than if it were, say, an animated show. If you reboot 90s X-Men, you get a new Cyclops voice actor and keep the character. What do you do with PR? I'm hoping for it to be addressed satisfactory.
Anyway, sorry if I said something that caused offense.

I think the initial "death is a part of life but let the fact a version of the character somewhat resembling the main timeline's version, but not really, console you" is flippant. I think that's actually the best word to describe it. These are the characters and heroes of my childhood, and I'm still on the fence about this apparent
It could have been something left alone, but now they've picked the scab. I hope they have the thoughtfulness to give her legacy the respect it deserves and it's not a lackluster, one dimensional motivation, just because it was convenient to tie it to a real life event.
But I digress, some random newbie has arrived to declare too much crying over a deceased legend in the Rangers fandom. Oh what would we do without this feeble hand to guide us.
